Marine Works Construction Manager

Marine Works Construction Manager East Africa Competitive Permanent
BOSS Energy have been retained by a leading EPC seeking to appoint a Marine Works Construction Manager for an LNG project. You will be based on site with responsibility for all elements of the jetty/other marine works
  • Responsible for overseeing the constructability of the design and plans developed during the engineering phase of the project and prior to contractor site mobilization having a focus on the pre-treatment area of the project.
  • Support the commissioning and start up specialists as they rotate in to support commissioning and start up once mechanical completion has been achieved.
  • Perform technical tasks assigned by PSL, related with design, quantities estimation, verification, study for maritime works
  • Ensure interface with other Project Specialists, Designers and other Departments, Process, Construction, Fabrication and Transport
  • Prepare technical specification and documentation for steel structure material and maritime equipment requisition and support the procurement dept. in technical evaluations
  • Coordinate activities performed inside or outside the Company
  • Provide technical support C-Bidding phase/Commercial proposal development
  • Prepare list of deliverables and develop sketches for studies
  • Prepare material quantities (BOQs) and weights (MTOs) estimation
  • Prepare maritime equipment list and cost estimation D-Project Execution (Job progress and completion)
  • For studies and pre-design of maritime works, pursuing objectives of sound design practice and optimises in term of costs, fabrication simplicity and safety
  • Control of subcontracted maritime works engineering documents inside or outside the Company
  • Set up and execute assigned engineering activities such as detail design, verification and studies relevant to any engineering topic associated to Discipline, pursuing objectives of sound engineering and design optimisation in term of costs and fabrication simplicity
  • Prepare design specifications for reinforced concrete, maritime steel structures, piling, sheet-piles, mooring system works
  • Develop studies for maritime and concrete structures
  • Prepare technical documentation for maritime material requisition and assists the procurement dept. in the technical evaluations
  • Supervise/Approve maritime civil structure design, plot plans of maritime structures and associated piling dwgs issued by Designers and Draftsmen
 
Key Competencies
  • Requires a Bachelor's Degree in engineering with supporting business-related studies or background.
  • Advanced degree or professional engineering registration strongly preferred.
  • Requires a minimum of 15 years managing major mechanical construction projects including the construction of Oil & Gas, and energy infrastructure projects and preferably LNG liquefaction projects.
  • Experience with brownfield projects.
  • Preferred experience: most preferred experience with natural gas treatment systems and preferred experience with cryogenic system and LNG systems.
