Engineering and Technical Services Director

We have been retained by a business that are looking to hire an Engineering and Technical director team due to an influx of EPC energy projects. I am currently seeking a the is responsible for definition and the implementation of business strategy and line management duties of teams including Engineering, Technology, EHS and Quality.

The Engineering and Technical Services Director is accountable for Standards, Policies and guidelines in Engineering, EHS, Quality and Commissioning.

The Engineering and Technical Services Director works with the Leadership team, projects and internal and external stakeholders.

Job Role:

  • The Engineering and Technical Services Director is responsible for definition and the implementation of business strategy and line management duties of teams including Engineering, Technology, EHS and Quality.
  • The Engineering and Technical Services Director is accountable for Standards, Policies and guidelines in Engineering, EHS, Quality and Commissioning.
  • The Engineering and Technical Services Director works with the Leadership team, projects and internal and external stakeholders.

Job Responsibility:

  • strategic and tactical responsibility for defining and implementing Engineering, EHS, Quality and Commissioning strategy and strategic operational goals to exceed project managers expectations for quality, cost and delivery, maximizing efficiency, optimizing and driving engineering excellence.
  • Overall responsibility and accountability for the Engineering, EHS, Quality and Commissioning functions across Capital Projects, within are internal teams as well as in relation with the E&C teams.
  • Responsible for these areas’ quality of service delivery, striving for best in class products and business practices to deliver to the customer’s expectations, managing teams and projects across the business.
  • Establish quality and reliability standards by studying industry benchmarks and the requirements of customers and research/design and development, and define the metrics required to assess performance against standards required, ensuring adherence.
  • Ensure that the technical team and any 3rd party technical contractors adhere to the overall project quality plan provided by the quality manager throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide clear leadership and vision, inspire and motivate staff to achieve excellence and mentor them as they develop new skills
  • Define and monitor Key Performance Indicators across all areas of the Engineering, EHS, Quality and Commissioning functions to ensure that all projects are delivered on cost and on time to the highest quality standards
  • Ensure Health, Safety and Environmental issues are prioritized and facilitate, direct and drive implementation of Lean Business strategy and drive Continuous Improvement across all engineering related areas of the business
  • Accountable for the Engineering, EHS, Quality and Commissioning policies, guidelines and any associated documents
  • Evaluate the challenges faced by the business and take action to mitigate risks and develop opportunities
  • Contribute to overall business strategy and annual budget process
  • Support the Programmed Delivery organization and project execution
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance
  • Work with the leadership team to prioritize engineering projects against the business targets and assess execution risk.
  • Work collaboratively, negotiate and engage with key stakeholders to facilitate delivery and compliance with the engineering strategy.
  • Ensures compliance with relevant local and national legislative requirements.
